A Little About Me!

My name is Shar and I live in Illinois with my husband Bob, who spoils me and treats me like a queen. We have 2 dogs- Louie Houdini and KoKo, 2 cats- Orange Kitty and Calico Kitty, and 2 grandsons Julien Michael and Christian Nikola. I also have 3 grown up children- Amanda, David, and Rebecca.

I actually had three experiences with these candles before I became part of our amazing “family”. The first experience was back around September 2005. I was reading an ad online, and in the signature line, I saw something about entering a free drawing for a free candle. I thought “why not? I like candles.” So, I clicked on the link and it took me to a page to sign up for a free candle drawing. I had no idea what the name of the company was who sponsored the drawing or even anything about the type of candles I was entering to win, but I still signed up for the drawing. After I entered the drawing, I got an email from someone, and then this information page. I still didn’t know what company I was looking at, but I remember getting a few of those emails and just deleting them after reading them- I wasn’t interested in any business opportunity with candles. I finally emailed the person back and said if I was interested, I would contact the person later. A short time after I sent that email, I got a box in the mail- I won the weekly drawing! (my name is still on the list today). It was a Hot Apple Pie Candle! I burned it and then put it away for a while. When I took it out again to burn, it still smelled the same as it did when I got it, and it just didn’t look like any of my other burned candles- interesting, I thought all candles looked the same when they were burned…

Fast forward about 3 months to about December 2005. I won an auction on Ebay for some business supplies for another business I was with, and when I got my item, there was this business card with a scent sample on it and the phrase “I would love for you to stick your nose into my business!” I thought- cute phrase, and smelled this sample- it was a zesty orange type scent called “Sweet Orange & Chili Pepper”- hmmm, I really liked that scent! I kept it on my computer desk, and kind of lost track of it, but the scent still lingered on. Well, I needed to do some cleaning to find my desk, and since I wasn’t interested in selling candles, there was no need for me to keep that business card, so I threw it away, along with the zesty orange scent sample.

Fast forward another 6 months to June 2006. I discovered “online vendor parties”! How I found this party room, I can’t remember, but I went to the party, and there were some ladies presenting their companies, and this one lady, Carol Lowe was presenting this business about gourmet scented candles. She was talking about how she had just started and was so excited to be with the company, and her excitement was just sooo evident as she kept talking about everything the company had to offer. She mentioned one of the candle scents that they carried- Sweet Orange & Chili Pepper- HEY! I remember that scent- that was the scent that was on the business card that I threw away! She gave her website link during the presentation, and by the time her turn was over, I had gone to her website and ordered that candle and a Lilac scented one. She said the scents were very realistic, and since I LOVE the Lilac bush outside our bedroom window, I thought I would see just how realistic that candle would be. Well, not even a week had passed, and I received a box- it was my candles! Wow, that was fast, I thought. I opened up the box, and smelled both of the jars before deciding which one to light. All I could say was wow- the Sweet Orange & Chili Pepper candle smelled just like that sample, and the Lilac candle smelled just like the Lilac bush outside our bedroom window! I lit one and let it burn for a while, and then blew it out and lit the other one and let it burn for a while- they smelled soo good- I couldn’t decide which one I liked more. I decided to burn each for a little while, and I was just so amazed at how they still smelled good all the way to the bottom of the jar, and when they cooled off, they just looked soo much different than any other candles I had burned before. The jars burned evenly and cleanly all the way to the bottom! I emailed Carol to let her know I had received my candles, and how excited I was about them.

Fast forward a couple weeks after the party. Carol sent me a couple of emails. I guess she must have sensed the excitement in my email to her. I started thinking to myself, hmmm, I really like these candles, but I still didn’t want to sell them or get involved in another business. That thought kept going through my mind until the beginning of July. I started emailing back and forth with Carol about the candles, and then I got an email about her excitement with her 1 month anniversary. She had so much enthusiasm in her emails, and so I asked her a little more about the candles. I asked for her phone number and called her on my way to pick up my grandson. That evening, I went home and went to her website, and on July 12, I officially became part of the “family”.

They say that “3 times is a charm”, and in my case, it took 3 experiences to see just what this company was all about. The first 2 times I experienced this company, the candles just weren’t “calling me”. Carol and her down home, sincere enthusiasm, was the one who was able to “call me”. As of now, we have over 100 members in our “family”, which is awesome, because Carol started just a little more than a month before me. She has been such an inspiration, both as a mentor and a friend, not only for me, but for everyone else that she works with.

Hopefully, my story will inspire you to take a look at what we have to offer, and you can take that next step and join our very fast growing family.

Sincerely,

Shar Wade
